Our Mission
Spokes of Green's mission is to educate and strengthen communities on the importance and benefits of going green. This will be done by promoting and demonstrating a healthy lifestyle through cycling, gardening and participating in sustainable activities. These activities will help better other's lives and their environment.
This summer, June 15th - August 15th, 2013, the Spokes of Green team will embark on a fantastic adventure. We will be cycling from Bar Harbor, Maine to Seattle, Washington, covering roughly 4,000 miles, where we'll be viewing some of the country's most beautiful landscapes. The Spokes of Green team will stop at 13 major cities and surrounding areas to partner with existing urban and community gardens to lend a helping hand. While visiting, we will demonstrate sustainable lifestyle activities.
It's going to take a huge amount of support. We need financial backing to help fund the trip. And, we also need moral support and encouragement to make this 4,000-mile journey. We are excited to announce that we've partnered with Bike Cleveland, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit bike advocacy organization. This partnership will help us as we accept charitable donations. All the money we raise from private and public donors can be used as a tax write off. Every little bit helps and it begins with a great idea and vision. We have that vision and great idea, and now we're asking you to jump in and help us make it a reality.
